How to Stretch……
Stretch when your body is warm
Only stretch until you feel a mild tension
Never stretch into pain
Hold, roll or rock as indicated
Enjoy the exercises. Move slowly and gently. Never use excessive effort.
Never move or stretch into pain. Listen to your body and do what feels good.
Stop if you experience symptoms of tingling, numbness, dizziness, or nausea.
Only perform the exercises that have been prescribed by your health care professional.
Hold stretch for at least 10-20 seconds
Repeat 2-3 times
Stretch gently and slowly
Rock or Roll
Move rhythmically and gently either through a comfortable range or small movements
at end of range. Repeat several times
The Benefits of stretching……….increase blood flow, increase range of motion, decrease pain, increase wellness, increase health, decrease illness, decrease stress, better fitness, increase quality of life, supportive to active lifestyle, increase muscle strength, ect.
The positive effects of stretching can be multiplied when accompanied by exercise.
